Description: Courageous cruise 049 was undertaken to survey the demersal fish community of the Australian North West Shelf between North West Cape and Broome, using demersal trawling, and also to conduct hydrological transects across the shelf for comparison with 1978 data. The voyage took place between Fremantle-Port Hedland-Broome, from 30 April to 22 May 1979.
