Description: Courageous cruise 045 was the first in a series of 3 cruises undertaken to study fish species distribution in the Great Australian Bight, in this instance the eastern Great Australian Bight between longitudes 130 and 134 deg E, in water depths to 400 m, using demersal and pelagic trawling. Associated hydrological and plankton samples were also taken. The voyage took place between Adelaide-Thevenard-Adelaide, from 25 January to 13 February 1979.
