Scientific Name Notes:

In the past, the name Leiognathus blochii (Valenciennes, 1835) was commonly used for Nuchequula glenysae. However, Kimura et al 2008 demonstrated that the true Leiognathus blochii is restricted to Pakistan, India and Thailand, whereas Nuchequula glenysae has only been recorded from northern Australia and Indonesia.
