Expected species depth range is from 147 to 220 m.
Taxon Notes:First confirmed Australian record was photographed by an ROV on a deep reef (210m depth) at Osprey Reef in the Coral Sea Qld at approx. 13°48 S 146°32 E (Source: MARUM, University of Bremen / www.deepreef.org; Fishes of Australia online; Rob Beaman, JCU, pers comm July 2017). Specimens subsequently identified as this species in NTM collection from east of Dunk Island (c. 18 S, 147 E) in 220m depth. Other specimens from outside of Australia have been collected from 100-200m depth.
