Ophiocara spp.
- Taxon Notes
- This name has been widely used for all members of the genus in the Indo-Pacific. It has recently been shown by Keith & Mennesson (2021) to be restricted to the Indian Ocean. Records from the Pacific, including Australia were based on Ophiocara ophicephalus, coded as 37 429007 [AFD draft text Jan 2022]. In Australia, only known from Cocos-Keeling Island in 1-2m (Hobbs et al 2014 Cocos Checklist).
