Taxon Notes:Added based on records from northern Great Barrier Reef, Qld southwards to North Solitary Island, NSW. Probably widespread in Australia, but often misidentified as Gobiodon histrio (AFD online accessed 12.9.18). Allen & Erdmann (2012) note its occurrence in reef crests and lagoons to 12m depth.
