Taxon Notes:Until the description of Gobiodon fuscoruber in 2013, this species was previously misidentified as G. unicolor. The true G. unicolor is a synonym of G. histrio, which is also known from northern Australia (Herler et al 2013; Australian Faunal Directory online, accessed 19 July 2017).
