Taxon Notes:

Known in Australia from reefs off Cape York to Yonge Reef & One Tree I in sQld and Coral Sea islands. Probably widespread along GBR & most common on outer-reefs. Found on Swains Reefs in the Coral Sea and in back reef areas on the outer barrier islands. Also known from Ashmore & Cartier reefs (Timor Sea), Cocos & Christmas I. Recorded from 1-38m depth, but normally below 10m in Australia. Outside of Australia ranges from Indonesia north to Japan, south to New Guinea and east to Fiji.
