Taxon Notes:The name Taenioides cirratus has typically been applied to this species, but apparently the identity of that species is uncertain (E. Murdy, pers. comm. in AFD draft text 12.9.18). In Australia, known from Shark Bay (WA), Darwin area (NT) and Cairns (Qld).
