Taxon Notes:	In Australia, prior to 2003, the name Parapercis cylindrica was used for the species now referred to as Parapercis australis Randall, 2003 (coded as 37 390010). Only recently (Nov 2017) has the true Parapercis cylindrica been recognised from Ashmore Reef (Timor Sea, Australian EEZ) by Jeff Johnson, Qld Museum. Specimens are lodged at the AMS, NTM and WAM.
