Taxon Notes:In Australia, known from a specimen collected at Jewell Reef, Great Barrier Reef (14 22 S, 145 24 E) in 150 m and an ROV observation in 207 m off Willis Islet (16°17'S, 149°58'E), Coral Sea by Tea et al 2025 (as Decodon sp A). Also recorded from Okinawa & off Kochi Prefecture (Japan) and New Caledonia in 109-348 m (Kanai et al 2025).
