Taxon Notes:Known from Japan, Taiwan and NW Australia (off Shark Bay, 25 54 S northwards to Bonaparte Archipelago region 12 51 S, 125 47 E) in 87-120m depth (Gomon, 2017). Choerodon albifasciatus is a replacement name for Choerodonoides japonicus Kamohara, 1958 (a junior homonym of Labrus japonicus Valenciennes, in Cuvier and Valenciennes, 1839).
