Taxon Notes:	Records of this species from Australia (as Owstonia pectinifer and Sphenanthias sibogae) were based on misidentified specimens of Owstonia taeniosoma (NSW), O. tosanensis (WA) and postlarvae of uncertain identity. The species is retained here because the type locality is only 100 km north of the EEZ and the species is likely to occur in Australia (AFD online, 23 Nov 2016).
