Taxon Notes:This species was added to CAAB based on Lord Howe Island records noted by Francis (1993). The original source (Randall 1983) was a tentative identification based on an image without a voucher specimen, which was later determined to be Cheilodactylus francisi Burridge 2004. The true Cheilodactylus vittatus is probably restricted to the Hawaiian Islands.
