- This taxon represents a grouping of several CAAB species, typically for use in commercial catch recording.
- Scientific Name Notes
- Griffiths & Heemstra (1995) noted A. hololepidotus had been used for 4 species, 3 restricted to western Indian Ocean and/or eastern Atlantic (A. coronus, A.hololepidotus, A. inodorus) and a widespread Indo-Pacific species, A. japonicus. They didn't find significant differences between populations of A. japonicus from South Africa, Japan and Australia, but noted further genetic research was required.
