Taxon Notes:Iwatuski & Heemstra (2018) reviewed Argyrops describing three new Indo-West Pacific species, including A. notialis from WA (coded here). However, the characters separating the two Australian species (A. bleekeri, coded as 37353006, and A. notialis) were poorly defined so their true distributions and how to reliably separate all size classes needs further investigation. A. notialis is documented as a WA endemic, occurring from Port Hedland south to Perth.
