Scientific Name Notes: | Johnson & Wilmer (2015) noted distribution as southern Japan, Taiwan, Micronesia (Guam), West Malaysia, Indonesia, New Guinea and northern Australia. In Australia known from Rottnest Island north to Dampier Archipelago (WA) and on east coast from Lizard Island (Qld) south to Tweed River (NSW), including Lord Howe Island in depths of 1–10 m. Plectorhinchus schotaf appears to be restricted to the region from southeast Africa to the Arabian Sea, including the Red Sea and Persian Gulf; Plectorhinchus chubbi has only been confirmed from the Western Indian Ocean (Johnson & Wilmer 2015). | ||||||
