Scientific Name Notes:

The name Lutjanus russellii is provisionally applied to this eastern species, although the true L. russellii may not occur in Australian waters. The western form, which has also been called L. russellii, is coded at 37 346012 (also see Yearsley et al 1999: 239). Update Sep 2012 - recent information suggests that both forms occur across northern Australia (ie both forms have been confirmed from Qld & WA and possibly in between).
