Scientific Name Notes:	Smith (1961) described Apogon fragilis from the western Indian Ocean (Mozambique). Fraser & Lachner (1985) placed Apogon fragilis in the subgenus Zoramia and reported a range extension to the Pacific. Greenfield et al. 2005 described the western Pacific form as Zoramia viridiventer, noting that A. fragilis was restricted to western Indian Ocean (Mozambique, Madagascar & the Seychelles).
