Taxon Notes:	Plectranthias mcgroutheri (formerly referred to as Plectranthias wheeleri in Australia) is known from west of Exmouth Gulf (21 59'S, 113 49 E), 190 km NW of Port Hedland (19 01 S, 117 12 E) and east of Rowley Shoals (17 29 S 120 27 E), WA in 165-202m (Gill et al 2021). The true Plectranthias wheeleri is restricted to the Eastern Indian Ocean and western Pacific, including Indonesia north to Taiwan and Japan and New Caledonia.
