Expected species depth range is from 3 to 15 m.

Taxon Notes:	Described from specimens collected in the Van Diemen Gulf (12°13'33"S, 132°09'32"E), NT (Hata & Motomura 2022). Also known from CSIRO specimens collected from Torres Strait (PNG) and Keppel Bay (23 20.89 S, 150 51.67 E), Qld. Known from 3-15 m depth. Some specimens were previously identified in Australian collections as Stolephorus andhraensis (CAAB code 37 086011), which is not confirmed from Australia, but the use of this name in Australia may encompass more than one species.
