Taxon Notes:Some Australian specimens originally identified as E. nigriventris are now known to be Eviota dorsogilva (37 428438), but little Australian material was examined and E. nigriventris may still occur in Australia (e.g. Eviota nigriventris is known from Indonesia, not far from Ashmore Reef in the Timor Sea and from the Chesterfield Islands in the Coral Sea). [Source - AFD & D Hoese, pers. comm, May 2016]. Made non-active in CAAB based on advice of Doug Hoese, 16.4.25 (Australian records based on dorsogilva but E. nigriventris may turn up in Coral Sea or Ashmore Reef).
