Taxon Notes:	Allen et al 2007 (Fishes of Christmas Island, Second Edition) confirmed the presence of this species (as Chromis dimidiata) from Christmas Island within Australian EEZ. Randall & DiBattista (2013) noted that C. dimidiata was restricted to the Red Sea and described the Indian Ocean population as a new species, C. fieldi.
