SP 09/83 [details] |
M. Dunning (CSIRO) | Third in a series of 3 cruises examining the distribution of larval oceanic squid across the continental shelf and slope between Sydney and Brisbane. Plankton tows, CTD and XBT data were obtained. Additional samples were taken for pelagic foraminifera (for UNSW). |
SP 06/83 [details] |
M. Dunning (CSIRO) | Second in a series of 3 cruises examining the distribution of larval oceanic squid across the continental shelf and slope between Sydney and Brisbane. Plankton survey for larval squid, on 7 transects across the continental shelf between Sydney and Brisbane. CTD casts were also taken at trawl sites on 3 of the sections, and XBT sections along all 7 lines, along with continuous recording of surface fluorescence, temperature and salinity. Squid jigging was also undertaken at one site using hand reels an caught red ocean squid, Ommastrephes bartrami. Additional sampling was undertaken for planktonic foraminifera (for S. Andrijanic, University of NSW). |
SP 01/83 [details] |
J. Young (CSIRO) | First in a series of 3 cruises examining the distribution of larval oceanic squid across the continental shelf and slope between Sydney and Brisbane. Plankton survey for larval squid, on 7 transects across the continental shelf between Sydney and Brisbane. CTD casts were also taken at trawl sites on 4 of the sections, along with continuous recording of surface fluorescence, temperature and salinity. Additional sampling was undertaken for planktonic foraminifera (for S. Andrijanic, University of NSW); larval fishes (B. Bruce & T. Miskowitz, University of NSW); pleagic specimens for lipid analyses (J. Volkman, CSIRO Oceanography); and for larvae of the spanner crab Ranina ranina (for Queensland Fisheries). |
