Taxon Notes:Added based on NMV specimen collected from SW of Scott Reef (c. 14 36 S, 121 20 E), WA in 705m depth. ID confirmed by T. Munroe, April 2020. CO1 genetic sequence of this specimen matches those of Symphurus hondoensis in Lee et al 2017 (S. longirostris n sp paper). Confirmed from Japan, Taiwan & a single specimen from NW Australia in a depth range of 390-815m.
