- Previously confused in part with Centrogenys vaigiensis, which does not occur in Australia. Known from Shark Bay (WA), along the coast of the Arafura Sea, the Timor Sea, the Gulf of Carpentaria, the Torres Strait (including southern PNG), and south to Moreton Bay, Qld.
