Taxon Notes:

Imamura (2012) reported the distribution of this species as northern Australia (c. 128 10'E in WA eastwards to c. 19 11'S on the central Qld coast) and Indonesia (West Papua) in creeks, river mouths and occasionally coastal waters (depths of 0.5-2m). Although this species has possibly been confused with P. indicus, it is different to the P. indicus recorded from Australia (H. Imamura, pers. comm 14/3/13).
