Taxon Notes:	Previously lumped with Scorpaena papillosa. Distributed off southwestern Australia, ranging from Southern Group, Houtman Abrolhos (c. 28 51'S) south-east to the Albany coast (34 53'S, 118 25'E). Specimens examined for description were collected mainly from shallow rocky reefs at depths between 0-37 m, but known to at least 188 m (Wibowo & Motomura 2020).
