Expected species depth range is from 5 to 32 m.
Taxon Notes:Added after description, including specimens from Portlock Reef (09 35 S, 144 48 E) and Ashmore Reef (10 22 S, 143 31 E), Coral Sea in c. 5-32 m depth. Also known from photographs from farther south within the GBR, including Saxon Reef, Norman Reef and Hastings Reef off Cairns and an observation from John Brewer Reef (18 38 S, 147 04 E), 110 km NE of Townsville, Queensland (Short & Harasti 2026).
