Taxon Notes:	Australian distribution recorded by Australian Faunal Directory (2018) as off Southport, Qld (27º58´S) to Port Lincoln, SA (135º52´E) and off Bunbury, WA. Because of confusion with Trachipterus trachypterus (coded as 37 271004), the distribution needs further investigation and some records may be unreliable. The wider distribution is southern circumglobal except South America.
