| Taxon Notes: | Previously confused with Monocentris japonica, which also occurs in Australia (CAAB code 37 251001). In Australia, Monocentris chrysadamas is confirmed from off the Rockingham area (17°36'S, 146°48'E to 18°03'S, 147°04'E), Qld and south of Clerke Reef (18 07 S, 119 21 E), WA in 160-264 m (Su et al 2022). Elsewhere, known from Taiwan, Japan, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands in 145-341 m depth (Su et al 2022; Hatanaka et al 2023). Distributions of both Australian Monocentris species require further refinement. |
