Taxon Notes:Anderson (2005) described Microbrotula polyactis from Cape York (Qld), Indonesia & Philippines and another species, Microbrotula bentleyi from South Africa and the Red Sea. Schwarzhans & Nielsen (2011) subsequently synonymised the former with the latter, so the current name is Microbrotula bentleyi.
