Taxon Notes:Girard et al 2024 synonymised the genus Xyelacyba with Acanthonus, so the correct name for this species is now Acanthonus myersi. In Australia, known from Christmas Island area (11° 24.04' S, 104° 55.07' E) and off NW Cape (21 54 S, 113 41 E) to Gascoyne region (23 00 S, 112 28 E) in 1100-1447m depth.
