Scientific Name Notes:

Gadella norops was assigned to Australian Gadella by Paulin (1987, 1989) but Sazonov & Shcherbachev (2000) suggested that the holotype of G. norops is actually G. jordani. According to the same authors, G. jordani and G. macrura both occur in Australian waters.
