Expected species depth range is from 256 to 695 m.
Taxon Notes:Updated from Halicmetus sp B [of P. Last] to H. marmoratus after Ho & Last 2018. In Australia, known from off Raine Island, Qld (11 35 S, 144 04 E) south to Tasmania (43 39 S, 147 53 E) in 256 to 695 m, with most specimens taken between 300 and 500 m (Ho & Last 2018). The CAAB voucher (CSIRO H 4755-06) was erroneously listed as CSIRO H 4775-06 in Ho & Last 2018.
