Taxon Notes: | Updated from Halicmetus sp A [of P. Last] to H. reticulatus after Ho & Last 2018 reidentified the CAAB voucher for this species (CSIRO H 4070-48). In Australia, only known from one specimen collected off Port Hedland (18 12 S, 118 14 E), WA in 266-269m (Ho & Last, 2018). Elsewhere, known from Philippines, Taiwan, Japan & New Caledonia (Catalog of Fishes, 2022). The CAAB name of Halicmetus sp A also partly referred to another newly described species, Halicmetus westraliensis, coded as 37 212048. |
