Taxon Notes:	Updated from Histiophryne cryptacanthus after description. Known from Cape Cuvier, WA south-eastwards to Kangaroo Island and Aldinga, SA in 3-130m depth (Arnold & Pietsch 2018). The true Histiophryne cryptacanthus is recorded from Taiwan to southern Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, but is not known from Australia.
