Taxon Notes:The genus Etrumeus was previously considered to contain a single circumglobal species, E. teres, but is now a complex of at least 7 species. Etrumeus jacksoniensis was resurrected by DiBattista et al 2014 and is endemic to southern Australia. Etrumeus teres DeKay 1842 is regarded as a synonym of E. sadina (Mitchill 1814) and is restricted to the Atlantic.
