Taxon Notes:

Recorded from BRUV footage from 150 m depth south of Myrmidon Reef, Qld (c. 18 17 S, 147 24 E) documented by Sih et al 2017 and a WAM specimen trapped off Imperieuse Reef (c. 17 35 S, 118 55 E), WA in 151m. The latter specimen was the basis for the inclusion of the record in Hutchins, 2001 (Checklist of Fishes of Western Australia). Identification of both specimens confirmed by J. Pogonoski, CSIRO.
