Taxon Notes:Nakayama et al 2020 proposed the synonymisation of H. haeckeli with H. raleighana but Finucci et al 2024 disputed this, noting that Nakayama et al 2020 failed to address the validity of the paralectotype (USNM 38200), and did not consider that fin proportions vary considerably between juvenile and adult chimaeras.
