Taxon Notes: | This species was originally described from northern Europe, and has been reported from tropical to temperate waters worldwide - records in some regions may represent introductions by shipping. It is also likely that some other species have been confused with this species in the past. Beania lagenula was described by Tilbrook (2006) from Australian and other regional material previously identified as B. mirabilis. | ||||||
