Taxon Notes: | Hata et al 2025 described D. apollo from Australia, noting that D. elopsoides was endemic to Indonesia and the Philippines. Based on unpublished data of Hata, three additional Dussumieria (previously confused with D. elopsoides) are also recognised from Australia, namely D. hasseltii, D. modakandai and an unresolved species (latter coded as 37085010). Dussumieria apollo is known from the Gulf of Papua (southeastern coast of New Guinea) to northern coast of Australia from Dampier (c. 20 40 S), WA to the Bowen region (c. 20 04' S, 148 13' E), Qld in 10–55 m depth. |
