Description: Southern Surveyor cruise SS 01/90 was undertaken to conduct fishing and gear trials. Objectives completed included testing of all winches in working conditions; seven demersal trawls and one pelagic tow; laboratories tested, where possible, under working conditions; acoustics equipment was tested and calibrated; an acoustic survey of the orange roughy fishing grounds off St Patricks Head was completed and a mooring buoy was retrieved for the Division of Oceanography.
