Description: | R.V. Flinders: Operated by the Department of Fisheries and Fauna (WA) as a mid-water trawler. Build at a cost of $148,000 was launched on November 10, 1967 at the Dillinham Shipyards at North Fremantle. Extensively re-fit in 1988 at a cost of $350,000. Length: 20m, Displacement: 110 tonnes, Main engine: Gardner 8L3B, 230 hp, Winches: hydraulic Dunstan pot winch, hydraulic anchor windlass and hydraulic double ring trawl. Navigation: GPS, sonar, dual frequency echo sounder, auto-pilot, radar and VHF and MF/HF radio. Replaced in 2001 by the new 22.7 metre research vessel R.V.
