B. Bruce (CSIRO) | Southern Surveyor cruise SS 02/94 covered three main components of work that related to, and further integrated projects within, both the Pelagic and Temperate and Deep Water programs. Firstly, to examine the physical and biological structure of offshore waters between Tasmania and southern NSW. Secondly, to examine the distribution of larval fish in shelf waters off southern NSW and eastern Victoria and finally, examine aspects of the demersal fish and invertebrate communities on the continental shelf in southern NSW and eastern Victoria to provide a summer/winter comparison to data collected on SS 05/93. Work completed included fish/zooplankton/ichthyoplankton sampling, CTD casts, sediment sampling, benthic mapping and seismic monitoring trials were also conducted. |
