| Description: | The ARC project that has funded Vanderklift's postdoctoral fellowship at Edith Cowan Uni. is a highly complimentary fit with core SRFME goals (understanding of ecological interactions and trophic linkages) and is already underway in two areas that have also been chosen as key SRFME field sites (Jurien Bay and Marmion Lagoon). The project will provide inputs to overall understanding of ecosystem function, including quantitative estimates of key parameters for input to models. This relatively seamless fit of the project into SRFME has the net result of broadening the scope of SRFME as well as adding depth to the existing trophic studies component. This benefit has been subsidised to the tune of around 1 yrs salary by the ARC postdoc that Vanderklift brings with him. |
