Description: | The Bioregionalisation Project was funded by Ocean Rescue 2000 and a consortium of organisations was commissioned to produce a scientifically credible regionalisation of the Australian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), to be used as a basis fro establishing a system of marine protected areas in the future. The project as implemented at CSIRO Divisions of Fisheries and Oceanography aimed to provide a province level bioregionalisation based on fish distributions, and an oceanographic regionalisation based on available core physical oceanographic datasets. The results of the project were published as a report version 1.01 in 1996. |
