Dark brown foraminiferal mud, compact and dense cf. 0-44 interval. Appears to become darker towards the bottom (67-76cm) and this may reflect increased bioturbation. | 0.47 | 0.76 |

Brown to dark brown foraminiferal mud, highly ?watery? for upper 15cm and then increasingly compacted to 44cm. No obvious lamination but some dark streaks occur at ~27cm, probably worm burrows. At 42 cm, an orange-red Fe-oxide MnO zone occurs for about 0.5cm, but it is patchy and does not span across the entire width of the core. |
