| Greenish grey pyroxene-plagioclase andesite. 5% plagioclase phenocrysts to 2 mm across and trace dark green clinopyroxene. Pervasively weathered (altered?) with yellow-green clays in the groundmass (pseudomorphing groundmass olivine?). Rare white carbonate or zeolite veinlets. Boulder in a conglomerate as for 66-01. | ||
| Reddish grey pyroxene-plagioclase andesite. ~15% plagioclase and 10% dark green clinopyroxene phenocrysts, both 2-3 mm in diameter. Dense solid lava. Large angular boulder in a conglomerate of weathered ~5 mm diameter volcaniclastics. Surface of conglomerate is dusted with black MnOx and encrusted with biota. |
