---|---|---|
Fresh grey vesicular cobble with no glass. Moderately phyric with plagioclase, olivine and clinopyroxene phenocrysts up to 7 mm across. Vesicles are 3 mm to 1 cm across and moderate in number; a generation of microvesicles is also present. | ||
Three small highly vesicular pieces of porphyritic olivine, plagioclase and clinopyroxene bearing lava, phenocrysts up to 5 mm across. Fine grained, almost glassy, exteriors. | ||
Dull black lava with light green exterior. Phenocrysts of olivine, plagioclase and clinopyroxene. Numerous lithic xenoliths. Dull color may be due to microvesicular nature or fine grain size. Greenish exterior may be altered or devitrified glass. | ||
As for 56-02. | ||
Deeply weathered green lava with plagioclase and olivine phenocrysts. No glass. Phenocrysts are small than in 56-01 to 03. | ||
As for 56-02. | ||
Rounded cobble, highly phyric with plagioclase and olivine (rare clinopyroxene). Phenocrysts are smaller than in 56-01 to 03. Groundmass is more developed; no glass. |
